Week in Review Sept. 24th - Sept. 30th

After what was one of the best sneaker weeks in a while in my opinion I have a couple stories to share which took place from the 24th to the 30th.

The week was highlighted by a Sole Collector x Zoom Rookie release, KD tweeting a photo of yet another What The... shoe, and finally, new photos of the Stealth Foamposite surfaced.

The Sole Collector x Zoom Rookie released on Friday via the SoleCollector iPad app. I tried going for the shoes but unfortunately the sold out in about 30 seconds. The shoe sports a galaxy and black upper. It also has a glow in the dark outsole and pods. The shoes were designed by SoleCollector.com. They are the last of the Galaxy Pack to release and are most likely a shoe I will be buying.

Kevin Durant this week took to twitter a photo of the What The KD. It sports a wild upper featuring a hybrid of all the KD IV colorways released this year. Personally, my favorite part on the shoe is the splatter fade strap seen on the right shoe. These are not going to release but if I come across a sample pair I would pick them up.

This week photos of the All Black or Stealth Foamposite released. Sporting an all black upper with hints of grey on the heel and toe swoosh as well as an icy outsole these shoes look to be an instant sell out. Personally I am not a fan of these but the colorway has been looked forward to by many Foamposite collectors and should sell out instantly.

Week in Review Sept. 17th - Sept. 23rd

The week has finally ended and it is time for the week in review. This week we got a better look at the Lebron 9 "What the Lebron", a sneak peek at the Kobe 8 Lifestyle edition, and also the Jordan 9 "Motorboat Jones" pictures released.

The Nike Lebron 9 "What the Lebron" is a shoe based off a fusion of all the Lebron 9 colorways in one. The shoe is a mainly blue throughout the upper. The lining, heel tab, mid foot plate, and midsole are where the shoe gets crazy. Pictures are below.

Next up, we were introduced to the Nike Zoom Kobe 8 (VII) Lifestyle edition. The shoe sports a red suede upper. It has a gold swoosh and gold accents throughout the shoe such as on the tonuge and a purple icy outsole. No word on retail pricing or a release date but we'll keep you updated.

Last but not least, this week the sneaker world was introduced to the Jordan 9 Motorboat Jones. Sporting a flashy red upper and a black outsole this shoe is almost certain to sell out instantly. The tongue reads Motorboat Jones. In case you didn't know the shoes are inspired by the time Michael Jordan joined a fake team named the Billings Bandits and used the name Motorboat Jones. These shoes are part of the Kilroy Pack.

Week in Review Sept. 10th - Sept. 16th

This week in sneakers was an exciting one for lots of collectors. The week was highlighted by news of the Air Jordan Retro 4 "Thunder" re-releasing. Also big news this week were the Paranorman Foamposite auctions, and photos of Kevin Durant's 5th signature shoe leaking.

The big story was, as mentioned earlier, a re-release of the Jordan Retro 4 Thunders. They were a design made for the Jordan Motorsports team at first. However, Jordan released the Thunder 4 in very limited numbers in 2006. The shoes released alongside the sister colorway, the lightnings, sold out instantly. The 2006 version can know be found on sites such as eBay in the 1,500+ range for a brand new pair. The 2012 version was announced on September 13th. The 2012 version looks to be planned for a November 17th release. I expect the shoe to sell out very fast and also anticipate long lines forming at your local Jordan retailer.

Another big story was the fact that the Nike Paranorman Foamposite were going to have 80 special pairs auctioned off on eBay. The story behind the shoes is that the film Paranorman by Laika Films and Nike collaborated to make a sneaker inspired by the film's zombie grave yard escape visual. The shoes were given away to 800 people who posted weird pictures of them as kids on twitter. Then, Nike decided to auction 80 pairs for the Born This Way Foundation. This set of pairs was limited to 80 and included a custom ceramic lace lock, custom electric green laces, and also a custom bag to place the shoes in. I ended up winning a pair but most likely am selling them. Pictures are below.

Finally, the first set of Nike Basketball and Kevin Durant's 5th signature shoe leaked. These shoes are called the KD V and pictures of them in the Oklahoma City Thunder colorway were the ones released. The new model features a new lacing system, an air max unit in the heel for cushioning upon impact, and a heel counter to provide better protection and stability while playing. In my opinion, the KD V is a big step back from the KD IV of last season. The new shoe while seeming more comfortable, has a less attractive appeal and looks like it won't perform as well.

Introduction

Hello, I am Michael and I have an interest in sneakers. Specifically, Nike and Jordan brand. I have been in the "shoe game" for about three years now and have always followed blogs such as SoleCollector, but never have actually made a blog. This is my first attempt at making and maintaining a sneaker blog. Every week I will do a segment called the Week in Review which pretty much will update you on what has been going on in the "shoe game". I also will include additions to my collection in this and what the shoes mean to me.
